Sip Easy Coffee Bar: Where Old Hollywood Meets Freshly Brewed Marion Magic

Downtown Marion just got a little more glamorous—and a lot more caffeinated. Opening Thursday, November 6th at 7 AM, Sip Easy Coffee Bar officially invites the community to step into a world of moody charm, golden accents, and handcrafted espresso at 122 S. Main Street.

The new café is the brainchild of Kim Bradshaw—a Marion native, regional stage performer, dancer, actor, and comedy performer known for her work with the Marion Palace Theatre, Shovel City Comedy Improv, and Rogue Theatrics.

For 11 months, Bradshaw has poured her creative flair into transforming an empty downtown storefront into a place where artistry and espresso meet.

“It doesn’t seem real that it’s finally here,” she said. “It’s very surreal.”

A Speakeasy with Caffeine and Character

Bradshaw describes the vibe as “old Hollywood glam Art Deco”—dark, moody, and elegant, a contrast to the light, rustic look of most modern coffee shops. “It’s very opposite of a lot of coffee shops today,” she said. “So it’s going to be very dark and moody.” Inside, expect bold jewel tones, peacock accents, gold chandeliers, and the kind of atmosphere that feels part café, part backstage lounge.

The name “Sip Easy” nods to Bradshaw’s Mississippi roots and her love of coffee—but also to that speakeasy-inspired style: a cozy hideaway where every detail has a story. The tagline says it best: “Coffee. Calm. And just the right amount of glam.”

The Coffee, The Craft, The Calm

Don’t expect frozen frappes or sugary milkshakes here. Bradshaw is keeping the menu intentionally simple—and focused on flavor. “I really just want to enhance the flavor of the coffee and bring people’s awareness to how different it can be based on how it’s brewed or where it comes from,” she explained.

Sip Easy’s drinks are built around a classic European-style coffee menu—cappuccinos, lattes, pour-overs, and espresso prepared with beans from Purebred Coffee Co. in Troy, Ohio. Bradshaw loves that Purebred’s approach to roasting “lets each coffee speak for itself,” drawing out natural flavor notes of caramel, citrus, or cocoa depending on the origin.

To complement the coffee, the café will offer locally baked pastries and light bites, all sourced from Marion bakers. In addition, Sip Easy will serve hot chocolate and loose-leaf teas, including seasonal favorites like Cinnamon Apple Orange and Vanilla Caramel Earl Grey. For fall, the grand opening menu will feature three seasonal coffee flavors—Maple, Pumpkin Pie, and Toasted Marshmallow—and here’s the best part: no upcharges for flavors or milk options. That maple oat latte? It’ll cost the same as any other drink.

A Homegrown Hit in the Making

Sip Easy’s journey from sketchbook to storefront has been powered by the community. A local crowdfunding campaign helped bring the project to life, while friends and family joined the build-out effort. Bradshaw also partnered with nearby small businesses—both bakers and artisans—to stock the pastry case and decorate the shop. It’s the kind of collaborative energy fueling Marion’s downtown comeback.

Opening Day: A Marion Moment

On Thursday, November 6, the doors (and hearts) officially open. Sip Easy will launch with a full menu of espresso drinks, teas, pastries, and the seasonal specials mentioned above. Business hours to start:

The café will close Sundays and Mondays initially while the team fine-tunes operations and listens to customer feedback.
