MARION, Ohio — The weekend lineup around Marion County brings sing-alongs, live jazz, pottery, arena football, improv, wine, art, brunch, and a few good reasons to leave the couch where it belongs. Here’s what’s happening around Greater Marion from Friday, May 8, through Sunday, May 10.

Friday, May 8
5:00 PM – DIY Karaoke and Paint – Mimi’s Art Hollow – 287 W. Center St., Marion – A hands-on downtown art night mixing karaoke with painting at Mimi’s Art Hollow.
7:00 PM – Karaoke Night and Sing-Along with DJ KOV – Kin & Kilt – 130 S. Prospect St., Marion – Karaoke with a group sing-along option for anyone who wants the crowd doing some of the vocal heavy lifting.
7:00 PM – Live Jazz with The Ivan Murray Quartet – Shovel City Drinkery – 181 N. Main St., Marion – Live jazz from Columbus-based musician Ivan Murray, with Cupzilla Korean BBQ parked out front from 5 to 9 p.m.
7:00 PM – Clay Hand Building – Mimi’s Art Hollow – 287 W. Center St., Marion – A $10 clay hand-building session at Mimi’s Art Hollow.
7:00 PM – Boots, Bottles & Ballads: A Country-Themed Sip & Sing – Blend of Seven Winery – 146 W. Center St., Marion – A country-themed wine and sing-along night with familiar hits, wine pairings, and full “I know every word to this song” energy. Cost is $20 plus tax per person.
8:00 PM – Karaoke with Trapper Tunes – Coonie’s Place Restaurant, Tavern and Catering – 25 N. High St., La Rue – Free karaoke with Trapper Tunes DJ Services, food, drinks, and a Friday night crowd in La Rue. Runs until midnight.
Saturday, May 9
10:00 AM – Generations in Bloom Brunch and Fashion Show – Marion Women’s Club & Home – 1126 E. Center St., Marion – A brunch and fashion show event at the Marion Women’s Club & Home. Cost is $35 for adults and $20 for children 10 and under.
10:00 AM – Monthly Pack Walk with Pitter Patter Paws – Founders Park – NE corner of Main and Church streets, Marion – A free downtown pack walk for dogs and their humans, designed to help dogs practice social skills while walking through Downtown Marion.
10:00 AM – Brunch, Please! A Mimosa-Fueled Throwback Sing-Along – Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen – 320 W. Center St., Marion – A ticketed throwback sing-along brunch with mimosas, entertainment, inflatable microphones, sunglasses, and a room full of people belting familiar songs. This May 9 event is listed as sold out.
12:00 PM – America 250 Art Show Reception – Marion Public Library – 445 E. Church St., Marion – A free reception for the America 250 Middle and High School All-County Art Show, sponsored by the Mid-Ohio Fine Art Society and the Marion Public Library. Student artwork remains on display May 4–16.
1:00 PM – Language Lounge – Marion Public Library – 445 E. Church St., Marion – A free conversational meetup for language learners of all levels, with a focus on Spanish practice and community-led conversation.
5:30 PM – Game Night – Blend of Seven Winery – 146 W. Center St., Marion – A friendly game night where guests can play available games or bring their own, with $2 off glasses of wine while playing. Reservations can be made by calling 740-692-9003.
7:00 PM – Karaoke Night – FIT happens cardio – 284 S. State St., Marion – A Saturday night karaoke event with line dancing, games, raffle drawings, BYOB, and a casual social vibe. Must be 21 or older and must sign up.
7:00 PM – Ohio Legends Football – Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Marion County Fairgrounds – 220 E. Fairground St., Marion – Arena football returns to Marion as the Ohio Legends take on the Michigan Grizzlies. Tickets are $15.
7:30 PM – Queen of Hearts – Kin & Kilt – 130 S. Prospect St., Marion – Kin & Kilt’s weekly Queen of Hearts drawing continues every Saturday through the end of summer. Must be present to win.
7:30 PM – Shovel City Improv – Marion Palace Theatre – 276 W. Center St., Marion – Shovel City Improv returns to the Palace with a fast-paced, audience-driven comedy show built around suggestions, sharp wit, and zero scripts. Tickets are $23 for general admission and $33 for premium seating.
8:00 PM – Potty Mouth Pottery – Mimi’s Art Hollow – 287 W. Center St., Marion – A 21-and-older pottery night at Mimi’s Art Hollow. Cost is $5.

Sunday, May 10
10:00 AM – Brunch, Please! A Mimosa-Fueled Throwback Sing-Along – Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen – 320 W. Center St., Marion – The Bucci’s brunch party continues Sunday with throwback sing-alongs, mimosas, food, entertainment, and the kind of communal singing that turns brunch into a full-contact nostalgia sport. Tickets range from $27.89 to $321.75, depending on package availability.
