Marion County’s event calendar for the week of Monday 1 December through Sunday 7 December 2025 is packed with performances and community festivals. Events below are organized by date and include live entertainment, performing‑arts shows and community/holiday events. All times are local (Eastern).


Lapsit Baby Time — 11 AM, Monday December 1

Location: Marion Public Library – Kids Area

Description: A 20‑minute lap‑sit storytime promoting early literacy for babies aged 0–24 months. Led by Miss Madison and Jaymi, it includes songs, bounce rhymes, finger plays and a short book.


Teen Money Talk — 5 PM, Monday December 1

Location: Marion Public Library – Large Program Room

Description: Financial professionals Courtney Owen and Evelyn Lisiecki from New York Life help teens and parents build smart money habits and healthy credit.


Fiction Book Discussion — 6 PM, Tuesday December 2

Location: Marion Public Library – Large Program Room

Description: Relaxed monthly discussion group focusing on the pleasure of reading fiction.


Santa and his REAL Reindeer — 5 PM, Wednesday December 3

Location: OK Café (734 E Center St., Marion)

Description: Santa visits the OK Café with real reindeer. Families can sip hot chocolate and enjoy candy canes while taking pictures with Santa and meeting the reindeer.


The Holly Jolly Upcycle — 5:30 PM, Wednesday December 3

Location: Marion Public Library – Large Program Room

Description: Eco‑friendly holiday craft workshop led by Leah Lee of The Found Art Project with Keep Marion County Beautiful. Participants create a holiday gnome and learn recycling tips. Registration required.


RVHS Orchestra Holiday Music — 6 PM, Wednesday December 3

Location: Marion Public Library (445 E Church St.)

Description: River Valley High School’s orchestra performs a free holiday concert in the library. The BookMarket stays open for holiday shopping.


Marion Molten Melt Down — 12:30 PM, Thursday December 4

Location: Ohio State University at Marion – Student Lot 3 South

Description: OSU Marion’s engineering club demonstrates melting aluminum and pouring it into Christmas‑themed molds.


Biochemistry Class Poster Session — 12:45 PM, Thursday December 4

Location: OSU Marion, Library Classroom Building, Room 105K

Description: Biochemistry students present research on chemotherapy drugs and cancer resistance.


Red Cross Blood Drive — 10 AM, Thursday December 4

Location: Kingston Residence of Marion (464 James Way)

Description: The American Red Cross hosts a blood drive. Appointments are encouraged but walk‑ins are welcome; donations support accident victims and patients in need.


Story Time! — 10 AM, Thursday December 4

Location: Marion Public Library – Large Program Room

Description: Preschool storytime with songs, rhymes, activities and stories; siblings may attend when space permits.


Teen Tabletop Time — 3:15 PM, Thursday December 4

Description: Marion Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a networking event with refreshments, free for members.


Canvas & Wine – Christmas Tree in the Woods — 6 PM, Thursday December 4

Location: Blend of Seven Winery (146 W Center St.)

Description: Paint a “Christmas Tree in the Woods” while enjoying wine. Tickets ($28) include instruction and supplies.


Live Music with Jasmine Cain — 7 PM, Thursday December 4

Location: OK Café (734 E Center St.)

Description: National touring musician Jasmine Cain launches her “12 Days of Acoustic Christmas” tour in Marion. Café opens at 6 PM; music starts at 7 PM.


Christmas Flight Night — 5 PM, Friday December 5

Location: The Remnant (150 N Main St., Marion)

Description: Holiday‑themed drink tasting featuring flights and charcuterie plates. Orders begin at 4:30 PM; tasting starts at 5 PM.


Blues Night featuring Jason Allwood — 7 PM, Friday December 5

Location: Shovel City Drinkery (181 N Main St.)

Description: Blues evening with regional artist Jason Allwood. Taco truck opens at 5 PM; music begins at 7 PM.


Christmas By Candlelight drive‑thru — 6 PM, Friday December 5 through Sunday December 7

Location: Marion County Fairgrounds (220 E Fairground Rd.)

Description: Drive‑through light display open nightly at 6 PM. A toy‑drive night on Sunday offers free admission for toy donations and a visit by the Grinch.


Waldo Christmas Festival — 5 PM, Friday December 5 & 9:30 AM, Saturday December 6

Location: Fort Morrow Fire District (306 N Marion St., Waldo)

Description: Two‑day festival featuring a tree lighting, vendors, food trucks and a toy drive.


Christmas at the Palace: Memories — 7:30 PM, Friday December 5; 7:30 PM, Saturday December 6; 2 PM, Sunday December 7

Location: Marion Palace Theatre (276 W Center St.)

Description: Holiday variety show with local singers and dancers performing beloved Christmas songs and stories.


5th Annual Downtown Marion Secret Santa Shoppe — 9 AM, Saturday December 6

Location: MaxAiir Party Rentals & Inflatapark (190 W Center St.)

Description: Children aged 8 and under shop for gifts with help from “elves.” Parents reserve a 20‑minute slot; gifts range from $1–$10.


Meet & Greet with Santa — 9 AM, Saturday December 6

Location: The Nest by Yellow Finch Creations (119 W Huber St.)

Description: Free meet‑and‑greet for children to visit Santa and take photos.


WMRN Peanut Push — 10 AM, Saturday December 6

Location: Founders Park (Main & Church St.)

Description: Charity event where participants push a peanut with their noses. Registration opens at 9 AM.


Christmas Paint with Patty — 10 AM, Saturday December 6

Location: The Remnant (150 N Main St.)

Description: Christmas‑themed painting class led by Patty. Tickets include supplies and a 16‑ounce drink.


Brunch, Please! A Mimosa‑Fueled Throwback Sing‑along — 10 AM, Saturday December 6 & Sunday December 7

Location: Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen (129 N Main St.)

Description: Brunch with build‑your‑own Bloody Mary and mimosa bar, live piano/drums, DJ sets and throwback sing‑along. Doors open at 10 AM; sing‑along begins at 11:30 AM.


Pictures with the Grinch — 4 PM, Saturday, December 6

Location: Founders Park, Historic Downtown Marion

Description: Free family photos with the Grinch amid downtown lights and music.


Euchre Night — 5:30 PM, Saturday, December 6

Location: Blend of Seven Winery (146 W Center St.)

Description: Monthly Euchre card‑game night. Teams rotate tables and top teams play in a final match.


Bear, Please! Sing‑A‑Long Night Club — 6 PM, Saturday, December 6

Location: Brickyard on Main (135 S Main St.)

Description: Night‑club version of the brunch sing‑along with DJ and host. Tickets include dinner (pizza), a sing‑along dance party, photo booth and party favors.


Christmas By Candlelight – Stuff the Truck night — 6 PM, Sunday December 7

Location: Marion County Fairgrounds

Description: Drive‑through light display with toy‑drive admission; the Grinch makes an appearance.
